who we are

Our history

It is a family business, led by Martin, a young man passionate about gastronomy and hospitality who decided to launch his own adventure, after many years of experience as a waiter and head waiter.

Through his experiences and passion for dealing with people and the art of good food, he opened a restaurant that combines his origins (Argentina – Spain) with their respective cuisines and their most representative dishes: grilled food and tapas.

The business is created on a family basis, where Gabriel (Martín’s Argentine cousin) takes care of the grill in true “porteño” style, while his father Pablo is the sommelier and official host of the house. The rest of the staff is made up of close friends and other close relatives, creating a team that is literally a family.

Being passionate about restaurants, we have always thought that the treatment is one of the factors that are less taken into account when creating quality restaurants. For us, this prestige goes beyond awards in reference to our cuisine (which we also pursue and desire), this is shown for us with the assiduity of our customers, with the smiles and joys that we cause by creating a second home in a place as touristy and passing through as Sitges. Making people feel at home, trust us and feel part of our family is really our true success.

The love for cooking is what moves us, for us it is vital to have the security of always presenting and dealing with high quality products.

Finally, our goal is for BarTomeu to be more than just a restaurant. We want it to be a unique experience for our customers, so we need to create a pleasant and fun environment that goes beyond the food. We believe that the best way to achieve this is to enjoy ourselves first and thus, every day we continue to learn in a casual and unpretentious manner.

Through a double function oven (oven – grill), fed with quebracho charcoal, to encourage the memories of a typical Argentinean grill, where primarily meats are prepared but, without forgetting anyone and taking into account the new gastronomic trends, giving place and options to vegetarians and vegans.

The covers

Dishes and dishes of the Mediterranean cuisine, versioned by our kitchen to give them a modern and fresh point of view. You can find classic tapas such as patatas bravas or croquettes, and others not so classic, such as the house milanesa or steak tartar.
